The Union of Professional Educators – Voice of the Workers is extremely satisfied with the strong sense of responsibility which the academic staff at ACE English Malta have shown on Friday 31st July.
This school has clearly shown its commitment in safeguarding its teachers’ health when, last Friday, it made an announcement to all ACE students, with their teachers present, that as from Monday 3rd August, everyone will have to wear either a mask or a face shield in class and while loitering on the premises.
The guidelines issued by the ELT council did not make it a requirement for students to wear face masks/shields in class. The UPE contested that, and issued guidelines asking its members to do their utmost to ensure that masks are worn in class even by the students. The UPE is glad to see that ACE, as a school, has taken the guideline on board, and has made it a school rule.
This school has realised how important it is to not only follow the guidelines but to further enforce stricter measures to ensure the safety of staff and students alike, at all times. Well done ACE English Malta for putting people first and safeguarding public health!
