The Union of Professional Educators – Voice of The Workers, is still receiving complaints from PSCD teachers, members of UPE, that classrooms are not being provided for PSCD lessons at the Primary State Sector.
It is unacceptable that lessons are being held understairs, kitchenettes and other rooms that are not equipped as proper classrooms. Teachers are left helpless and have no suitable alternatives were to teach their students.
If both the well being of the students and that of the Teachers really mattered to the Directorate of Education, appropriate classrooms for PSCD would have been delivered earlier.
For this reason, the following directives are being issued to PSCD teachers within the Primary Sector who are members of UPE.
1. PSCD Teachers members of UPE working in Primary State Schools are not to process or hand in assessments.
2 PSCD Teachers members of UPE working in Primary State Schools are not to give PSCD lessons if they are not provided with adequate classrooms, nurtured with all the necessary resources for PSCD.
UPE is appalled that such working conditions exist in today’s schools. Members and prospective members of UPE can seek further assistance by sending their queries on firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling at our offices on 2590 5400
