Industrial Dispute – LSEs Denied a Chair and Desk To Work On In The Classroom.

The Union of Professional Educators – Voice of the Workers has been contacted by its members on an issue which is causing them much concern. With classrooms being stripped of non-essential furniture, these LSEs have been also stripped of the possibility of having a desk and a chair for their own use in the classrooms they work in.

It is unconceivable to consider such an arrangement as being superfluous to the working requirement of an educator, who will thus be forced to spend a whole day standing up and have no access to a surface on which to complete paperwork which is essential in the completion of daily activities.

The UPE has issued a trade dispute on this matter, and if it is not resolved in a timely manner the union intends to issue directives to address this unacceptable state of affairs.

Should any of our members experience any similar issues they are invited to forward their concerns to the union without hesitation, at info@upevow.com or by calling our offices on 2590 5400.
