UPE Writes to Prim Minister to Keep Schools Closed In-light Of The Increasing Numbers Of COVID-19 Positive Cases

The Union of Professional Educators – Voice of The Workers is concerned at the increasing numbers of COVID-19 positive cases. The situation has become unsustainable and with the opening of schools on the 28th of September 2020, the number of cases are definitely bound to increase uncontrollably thus placing an unbearable burden on our health care system.

The Union is therefore officially requesting the Prime Minister to consider maintaining the closure of physical attendance in schools, and to revert once again to online lessons as proposed by the UPE last August.

The Union reserves the right to issue industrial action for its members if this request is denied within the coming days.
